When ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’ was creating waves and gathering BO returns, grapevines ached for some spicy affair between the lead stars Imran Khan and Genelia D’Souza. However, Imran’s steady attachment to his long-time girlfriend Avantika did not help matters. But have these petty discouragements ever put wagging tongues to rest? If not love, then bitterness was reported to be welling high between the actors not long ago. But bubbly and bewitchingly beautiful Genelia insists all is well between the winning onscreen couple. They are still buddies!
"Imran is a dear friend, there is no misunderstanding between us and we are very good friends. Everything is absolutely fine. These are just rumours," Genelia clarified while talking to a news daily.
Since her Bollywood debut, her visibility has increased and the South-Indian actor’s hands are full of enviable roles, not to forget the remarkable increase in number of the starry-eyed guys who moon over those guileless eyes and charming smile.
Juggling both industries together with dexterity, the young heartthrob says, "I love both the industries as both are close to my heart. I started my career with Telugu films and I got recognition in Bollywood. But the success of ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’ has done wonders to my career."
Lined up in her kitty, Genelia has ‘Hook Ya Crook’ opposite hot-hunk John Abraham, ‘It`s my Life’ with Hurman Baweja (a Hindi remake of her own Telugu hit ‘Bommarillu’) and an Abbas Mastan thriller.
Perhaps Imran appeared as her good-luck-charm from Bollywood, so affection won’t die out so soon. Correct, Genelia?
