Katrina Kaif is surely out there to prove a point. She knows that she lags behind some actresses due to her non-Indian upbringing (that makes Hindi dialogues a tough task for her) but, she, off late, has shown the amount of resilience and effort that probably no one has displayed in recent memories.
The upcoming ‘Rajneeti’ can be called as a landmark film for her and she is ensuring that she gives more than her 100 percent effort towards it. For instance, Katrina was to fly off to London for a family event but owing to the volcanic ashes, her flight got cancelled. And, the gritty lass instantly called her director Prakash Jha and availed herself for re-dubbing of her ‘Rajneeti’ lines.
An overwhelmingly impressed Jha explains, “First I thought that she was calling from London. I laughed and told her to relax and enjoy her family gathering and stop thinking about work. But then she told me couldn’t go to London because all flights to Europe were cancelled. So instead of wasting her time in crying over missing the function, Katrina decided to get busy with re-dubbing her lines for my film.
Although there was nothing more to do with the lines, as far as I could see, Katrina was convinced she could improve on her dialogue. Her logic was that if she suddenly had extra time, why waste it sleeping or partying? She said she’d rather work.”
So, is she the most focussed actress of the current tinsel world? Even Salman Khan has often praised her for the labour and dedication she puts in. But, Prakash Jha is simply aghast and admits in awe, “I have worked with a lot of focussed actors, but I have never seen such an obsession to prove a point. Katrina has been working on her lines like crazy. I thought that she had already got it perfect in pitch and tone, but Katrina thought otherwise. She decided she wanted to get it even better.”
Conclusion: There is no substitute for hard work and, sooner or later, true labour gets rewarded. Keep up the good work, Kats!
