Is Salman Khan more Dabangg than Rajinikanth?

Is Salman Khan more Dabangg than Rajinikanth: This is something that took us by shock. Rajinikanth, the sultan of style, getting sidelined by the likes of Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan in our Bollywood3000 poll about who’s the most stylish actor on screen!
That Dabangg is going great guns at box office is well known, but we hadn’t anticipated that Salman’s antics would catapult him to a place higher than the one enjoyed by the 60-year-old Rajinikanth, who is worshipped by his loyal fans down south.

When it comes to style, there’s none like Rajini. But the readers of Bollywood3000 seem to feel otherwise.

2758 people cast their vote in the poll about the most stylish Indian actor on screen. The options were Rajinikanth, Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan.

Salman topped the poll with an overwhelming 74 percent votes. Even Shahrukh did better than Rajinikanth and got 16 percent votes. The south superstar came last with an unbelievably low 10 percent votes.

Given the Endhiran craze that’s gripped the southern industry, it’s perplexing that Rajini saar hasn’t topped the poll.

Salman Khan’s Dabangg
Though the movie did well in its second week, it couldn’t match up 3 Idiots which had a record second week of Rs 56 crore approx. As per reports the coming weekday business should add another Rs 5-6 crore as there is no competition for Dabangg. The movie’s box office earnings are likely to touch Rs 132-133 crore after three weeks. Dabangg also gave Salman his third all-time blockbuster after Maine Pyar Kiya and Hum Aapke Hain Kaun.

However, the fourth weekend will come as a challenge for the film, as Anjaana Anjaani and Endhiran (Robot) both are releasing on October 1.What comes as a disappointment for the makers is Dabangg’s satellite revenue.

The satellite rights of the movie are already sold for around Rs 10 crore but seeing its fantastic success at the BO the rights could have been worth Rs 30-35 crore, if not more.

Salman Khan's Dabangg is a big hit movie in Pakistan

Salman Khan's Dabangg is a big hit movie in Pakistan: With the ban on Indian film, which was implemented in Pakistan for the period of Eid to promote their domestic film industry, being lifted, movie buffs are making a beeline to theatres in Pakistani cities once again, thanks to Indian star Salman Khan’s box office hit Dabangg.
The movie released in Pakistan on September 17 and has been running very successfully.

Salman Khan in Dabangg
Salman, Arbaaz's 'Dabangg' success Celebration: The record breaking run of Dabangg at box office has taken everyone associated with the film by surprise.
Not that producers Arbaaz Khan and Malaika Arora and the film’s lead star Salman Khan  didn’t anticipate that the film would click with masses.

But they didn’t expect it to become a rage it has become, almost acquiring a cult status.

So far the Khans have been busy in the post release promotions of the film. Now that Dabangg’s huge success has begun to sink in, they are in a mood to celebrate.

“Yes, we're going to have a celebration very shortly. So far because of the way 'Dabangg' has gone, we haven't been able to plan out full details. But yes we will invite all our friends and colleagues. We want to share our happiness,” Arbaaz is quoted as saying by a news agency.

Arbaaz is reportedly in a mood to invite a lot of his friends and colleagues from the film industry to the celebration party. The list is long but it would include all the major stars from the industry, with the exception of just a few. We hear that the Bachchans, Kapoors, Sinhas and Roshans will be in the guest list. Aamir Khan will definitely be invited. Shahrukh Khan, definitely not.

The festival double whammy – Eid and Ganesh Chaturthi - and Salman's raw star power had audiences queuing outside cinema halls all over the country through the long weekend. The film grossed Rs 15.75 crores on its second day.
As per official sources the film has created a record by earning Rs 48 crores on the opening weekend, a decisive Rs 6 crores more than what 3 Idiots collected on its opening weekend.

Dabangg, that opened in theaters on September 10, has also surpassed Salman’s previous film records in the Gulf, UK (£332,673), North America – ($628,317) and with 14 prints, it grossed $80,000 in Australia on Friday alone making Dabangg Salman’s biggest hit overseas.

Dabangg's record collection prompted maverick film filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma to pronounce Dabangg helmer Abhinav Kashyup as the top director in Bollywood.

"Since all the top film pundits and film makers agree that Box Office collections of a film should be the only parameter to decide" RGV tweeted.

Dabangg team is already getting busy brain storming for a Dabangg sequel.
