Synopsis: Kites is a tale of love, passion, lust, revenge and fate. It’s about J (Hrithik) and Natasha (Barbara) whose fate brings them closer only to have two choices, either to be together forever, or to be doomed together!

J is a dance teacher in LA who marries Natasha as his sideline business to get immigrant women green cards. Call it fate, sparks fly between them much later when they meet again under completely different situations.

J and Natasha are all set to marry a brother-sister duo Tony and Gina (Nick Brown-Kangana) who are rich children of rich father (Kabir Bedi). All hell break loose for J and Natasha when they discover that they are in love with each other.

What’s next? They elope with the police and Tony to follow them until Tony finds out their location!

Will love win? Will J and Natasha be together forever? What lies in their fate? That’s Kites for you!

Review: The most anticipated and hyped movie of 2010 was Kites. But it didn’t stand as per expectation. The chemistry was good, but lacked the sizzling thing which we saw between Hrithik and Aishwarya in Dhoom-2.

Storyline was nothing new, though the pace was neck-breaking fast. It is sure to keep you seated till the end with its crisp and short storyline. However, Anurag Basu failed with the presentation! So did the storywriters Anurag Basu, Akash Khurana and Robin Bhatt.

The only treat to eyes other than the lead roles was the picturesque locations. Kudos to the cinematographer Ayananka Bose for mesmerizing with the eye-catching canvas!

Coming to actors…Hrithik Roshan looked hot in his new look, and yes, acted fine. Barbara was hot and proved she could act too. However, Kangana didn’t get much scope to act, thankfully!

The dialogues were cheesy at times and could have been far better for a multi-budgeted movie like Kites. Music by Rajesh Roshan was soulful and lingers for long in the ears and hearts as well.

Conclusion: Kites, though overhyped, looks better than most of the Bollywood releases recently. Our nod to watch it this weekend.

Kites Movie Trailer Releases Remix and original Versions

Kites Movie Trailar: Produced on an epic scale, and set primarily against the lavish backdrop of Las Vegas, KITES tells the story of two star-crossed lovers who are destined to be together even though each is betrothed to another.

Indian superstar Roshan, plays “J,” a charming hustler looking to make a big score, and Mori, the renowned Mexican actress (best known in America for the 2005 hit “La Mujer De Mi Hermano”), plays Linda, a beautiful immigrant with dreams of marrying a rich American.

Their romance is described in the film as a love that “knows no language,” an apt description of KITES itself, which has more international appeal than more traditional Bollywood films.

Officially billed as “A Brett Ratner Presentation,” Ratner’s version of KITES is, as its title suggests, a true “remix,” in that it is the same film, played to a different rhythm, running a swift 90 minutes as opposed to the 130–minute original.

One of the leading action directors working in the industry today, Ratner is credited with taking Asian action star Jackie Chan and crossing him over into American superstardom with his spectacularly successful “Rush Hour” series. In much the same way, KITES: THE REMIX will target younger, hipper, more action-oriented crowd than the original.

Besides playing different theaters and neighborhoods, it will also take on additional screens at many of the same multiplexes that will be playing the original version as of May, 21, an unprecedented strategy that will present an alternative to fans who want to see more—and less—of the film at the same time.

Kites will be released to theaters on May 21, 2010, with Kites: The Remix being released a week later on May 28, 2010.
