This decision was made after the other panelists submitted a signed and written letter to the Minister of HRD Kapil Sibal saying that if Aamir would join back then they would be happy as his integrity was not at all in question.
Javed Akhtar himself went to deliver the letter which was signed by himself and the other panelists like Prasoon Joshi, Anjum Rajabali, Vishal Dadlani Saket Chowdhury, Ram Sampat etc.Reports are that the actor was then summoned by Kapil Sibal and asked to reconsider his decision to jointhe panel which was set up to make the requisite amendments in the copyright act which was long overdue. Thus, Aamir has said that he would surely think about it.
According to reliable sources the copyright Amendment Bill would be presented in the Parliament budget session and will then be referred to the standing committee as well.
There have been years of struggle for lyrists and writers as they do not get any Royalty after the initial payment and the producers and other benefactors in line get all the money from prospective sell of songs in music videos, caller tunes etc. So with a ray of hope for all concerned lets hope Aamir considers his decision fast so that all in the film industry benefit equally from the amendment.
