Ranbir Kapoor's next bulky bulk 'Barfee'
Earlier titled as ‘Silence’, ‘Barfee’ shall feature Ranbir in a dumb and deaf character. However, it’s no emotional melodrama but a comic caper and Ranbir shall be honing his comic skills for this film.
Director Anurag Basu, being a die hard admirer of Charlie Chaplin, wanted Ranbir to take cues from his films and imitate his style. However, Ranbir came with an idea of his own. He suggested that he better sketch out his character in a Mr. Bean-like way coz the new generation would easily relate to him.
Anurag was mightily impressed with the idea and now Ranbir has been asked to put on some weight so that he looks more like his character. Hence, currently, Ranbir is sinking his teeth into fatty food and trying to gain some flab; something that comes so easily to Kapoor Khandan.
So, how will our Saawariya look in his plumper avatar? Any guesses?
Kareena Kapoor's Love and Bollywood Khans
Actress of ‘3 Idiots’ is all gaga about Aamir Khan. She was ecstatic after working with him and had hailed him as the God of Bollywood. She was also eager to do a film with him as soon as possible. And behold, she is now a part of Aamir’s next with Reema Kagti.
Kareena has also been quite friendly with Shahrukh Khan and has worked with him in films like ‘Asoka’, ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gam’ and the upcoming ‘Ra. One’. And talk of Salman Khan, Kareena has already worked with him in a couple of films ‘Main Aur Mrs Khanna’ and ‘Kyunki…’. Though both the flicks were disappointing at the box office, their 3rd one ‘Bodyguard’ may turn the tables for them in Eid 2011.
Kareena, of course, is the girlfriend of Saif Ali Khan and now she has voiced her adoration for the cutest and the youngest Khan- Imran Khan. She has cited, “He (Imran) looks good and he’s handsome. I think he is the next generation super-star.” Both are to do a film together in ‘Short Term Shaadi.’
With all the Khans in her good books, the killer lady, surely, knows the tricks of the trade.
Salman wants to credit money into his account for attending 'Koffee With Karan'
An industry source told Mumbai Mirror, "Sometime back, Karan had asked Bhai (Salman) to come on the show. And Bhai told him that he was willing to come on the show if he was paid."
Karan pointed out to the Dabangg actor that none of the guests on the show were paid to which Salman said that he didn't want money for himself but for his charity, Being Human.
Buzz is that since the channel will not shell out that kind of money, Karan is willing to personally pay the actor to have him on the show.
No one knows if Salman Khan was serious or was he just pulling KJo's leg!

No one to pull the release date of Aamir Khan's 'Dhobi Ghat'?: Aamir Khan has the power and he doesn't even make an effort to flaunt it. No wonder, with his decision to pull the release date of his next, Dhobi Ghat, from February to January (21st to be precise), he is getting a clear road ahead with no traffic whatsoever, what with Abhishek Bachchan starrer Game moving to a later date as well.
Says a veteran industry insider, "Game was earlier all set to release on 21st January. The date was announced months ago and with the film's principal shoot being through, there were plans lined up to cut the theatrical promo as well."
One was surprised though with the stance taken by Game to stick on to its original release plans. After all two other biggies had silently moved away from the same date with Vishal Bhardwaj's Saat Khoon Maaf and Madhur Bhandarkar's Dil To Baccha Hai Ji planning to arrive later on. However, as things stand today, the makers of Game have announced a new date,18th March, and in the process have steered clear of Aamir Khan's film (despite it being a low budget offbeat experimental cinema).
Ritesh Sidhwani, producer of Game along with Farhan Akhtar confirms, "Yes, we are not coming on 21st January anymore. It is 18th March for us." One also suspects if this was a goodwill gesture, given the fact that the producers are anyways working with Aamir Khan for their next outing (to be directed by Reema Kagti). After all it won't be fair to clash with the same actor at the box office with whom they have already begun collaboration.
Aamir Khan "No, that was not the case", Ritesh kills the speculation here, "We are not yet ready with our film and needed more time for post production. Since it looked difficult to get Game ready in February as well, we are now aiming for March."
This makes good business as well as commercial sense after all. There has been a heavy dose of films right through the last quarter of 2010. January doesn't look any better with half a dozen major films anyways planned for release. Moving ahead to March means that Game has a field wide open for it to enjoy all the perks that come along with a solo release as well as zilch competition.
Point to be noted though is that World Cup cricket would be in its full fervour during March. A 'game' like this in the middle of some intense game of cricket should indeed bring in all the thrills, both on the big as well as the small screen.

Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji Movie Trailer: Ajay, Emran and Omi ready to hit theater
The movie’s first promo was launched at Cinemax, Mumbai, on Sunday. The film’s actresses Shazahn Padamsee and south siren Shraddha Das were also present at the event. The film is about three men: Ajay plays a divorced man who is seeking new love, Omi is single and wants to find love, Emraan is single and a flirt who wants love, sex and money.
Madhur is ready to take you for a fun ride with these three men who are on a quest for love. In this film Emraan is paired for the first time opposite Shruti Haasan. The two also have intimate scenes in the film.

Box Office Report: 'Break Ke Baad' going not well at cash windows
Though it performed better at high end multiplexes like PVR Ambience Gurgaon with an occupancy rate of 40%, its occupancy was abysmally low at 15-20% in other multiplexes. Despite some heavy promotions and hype, the film literally disappointed.
Expectations were also high riding on the new pairing of chic Imran Khan and the sexy Deepika Padukone. Plus, a lot was being expected from Aamir Khan’s bhanja after he delivered a semi-hit with ‘I Hate Luv Storys’.
However, the opening day didn’t go as well. And after negative reviews from critics, it’s unlikely that it’s performance shall improve much over the week.
On the other hand, ‘Allah ke Banday’ failed to set up any momentum. Dark theme, lack of publicity and dearth of big stars spelled disaster for this film that could barely afford an occupancy of 10-15 percent.
Sunny Deol and Tabu starrer much delayed project ‘Khuda Kasam’ failed to leave any mark and vanished behind the veils of oblivion. With an average occupancy of 10-25 percent, it hardly bothered the cashiers.
‘Guzaarish’ that released last week, surprisingly, continued its miserable run while ‘Golmaal 3’ has gone past a mark of Rs 100 crore. Staggering result for this comic caper!

But Aishwarya’s coyness may have proved a hurdle to a free-flowing more exuberant acting career. Unlike Angelina Jolie, with whom she is often compared, Aishwarya is not comfortable about screen intimacy.
Aishwarya has never really been able to shed her reservations and in a 15 year career, she has only given one liplock (in Dhoom 2 with Hrithik Roshan). Besides she hasn’t indulged in much of a skin show.

'Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji' Madhur Bhandarkar's latest Film: Get inside the theatre, have a fun time, and come out refreshed".
These words aren't exactly something you'd hear from a film-maker who, in the past has attracted the audiences with his thought-provoking, topical, women-centric drama's that non-voyeuristically peep into punitive reality. But that's Madhur Bhandarkar for you. The man who rose to an unexpected prominence with his experimental yet firmly commercial films like Corporate, Traffic Signal, Page 3 and Fashion, is ready to catch you off-guard and make you chuckle with his first romantic comedy, Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji which he unveiled in Mumbai over the weekend.
The film -- which deals with three men who cope with modern women and contemporary liaisons resulting in a fun, roller-coaster ride of emotions -- stars Ajay Devgn, Emraan Hashmi, Omi Vaidya, Shraddha Das and Shazahn Padamsee.
"This is the first time I am making a slice of life romantic comedy and I hope as people have loved my earlier films, they will definitely accept this movie too. The way DTBHJ is shaping up I am sure it will be a treat to watch," he says of his latest enterprise.
So what triggered such a departure from his previous works?
"Nothing in particular, I just wanted to make a feel-good funny film that will have people laughing as they come out of the theatres,'' he says.
"Even though I've created fiction, it is within the parameters of reality, as is the case with my films. You'll like it," he candidly pours his heart out adding, ''I've been fortunate to achieve critical as well as public acclaim and I hope I maintain that trend.''

Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif 'jodi' now overexposed?: There was a time when a complaint was making rounds that Akshay-Katrina 'jodi' had been overexposed, case in point being 'Singh Is Kinng', 'Welcome' and 'Namastey London', all of which had come in quick succession. Later, even though the pair was seen only sparsely in films like 'De Dana Dan' and 'Blue', it was being stated in the industry circles that the hit couple would be doing many more movies together.
However, this didn't quite happen as Akshay and Katrina didn't sign any new movies thereafter. The only film which would now bring them back in front of audience is 'Tees Maar Khan' and that would be more than a year after 'De Dana Dan'.
Says Shirish Kunder, the film's co-producer, "We had done the calculations while signing on Katrina. To begin with we wanted a newcomer who had to be someone like Katrina. "No ways, I have no intent to turn producer. That's like getting into an different world altogether and I am certainly not on for that," laughs Kareena, "I am here just to act. Pehle woh toh kar loon!"
With hubby Saif pretty much managing both the worlds for his next and she being a supporting hand there as well, guess Kareena doesn't need to delve into her own production plans anyways. However, given the fact that she has been a leading lady for a decade now, isn't production the next logical step for her?
"When there are so many exciting assignments for me as an actor, why should I be dvelving into anything different right now," reasons Kareena, "I just have to keep moving on."
No wonder, all her concentration is on giving a go-ahead to numerous films left, right and centre. While she kick starts the shooting of her Imran Khan starrer later this month, next year would also see her flagging a film each with Aamir Khan and Salman Khan.

Which means that Farah’s TMK which was earlier the solo release on Christmas weekend will now have competition from Toonpur Ka Superhero.
It’s a development that surely won’t go down well with Farah and Akshay who had banked on the uncontested Xmas weekend to set the cash registers ringing.
The spokesperson of the Eros International is quoted to have said that Toonpur Ka Superhero was postponed because it’s a children’s film that can have more audiences around Xmas. Whether SRK had any influence in setting up this clash, no one is willing to stick their neck out and confirm.

Priyanka Chopra to work with Shahid Kapoor?
The B-town buzz has it that Kunal Kohli has approached Priyanka Chopra with a film that has Shahid playing the main lead. Though Kunal was upset with PC for not giving dates for one of his past projects with Saif Ali Khan, he again went up to this talented actress seeking her nod for the new project. If Kunal has his way, he will bring back the sizzling jodi once again on big screen after ‘Kaminey’. But can the director-producer convince PC to do a film with Shahid, as both the actors try hard to not to be seen in public together.
While talking to a daily about KK’s film, Shahid said, “I have enjoyed Kunal’s works in the past whether it’s Hum Tum or Fanaa and I’m looking forward to this love story. Whoever he decides to be cast opposite me, I’m okay with it.” That’s like a professional.
The film also demands two other actresses. Sonakshi Sinha, Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone are under consideration for the roles.

‘Sheela Ki Jawani’ as raunchy title song: Katrina Kaif
But that has changed with “Sheela Ki Jawani”, the song from Tees Maar Khan which is as raunchy as its title. How was it for the otherwise prim and proper Kat to get down and dirty on camera?
“It was kind of a learning experience for me. I don't take the song being called item number as an offense. There is exposure in the song but it is more about attitude and I was specific about it...It had be one of the raunchiest songs I have ever shot,” Kat is quoted as saying by a news agency.
The movie has Katrina playing a struggling actress who gets a role in a B-grade movie that requires her to do raunchy item numbers.
“In the movie, Akshay plays the role of a conman and I play his love interest, a wannabe actress called Anya. She signs a B-grade film in which she is called Sheela,” Katrina added.
Katrina is all praise for director Farah Khan for making her look glamorous in the film which is set to release on December 24.
Freida Pinto makes a long distance relationship work!
So far their love has stood the test of time. More than two years since Freida and Dev started dating, the couple is still going strong and steady. But not without the challenge of meeting their professional commitments while continuing to keep love from fizzling out due to the physical distance them.
“I'm still with Dev. It's a challenge to meet mid-way because I live in Bombay. But at the same time we both support and respect each other,” Freida is quoted as telling Total Film magazine.
Freida’s home is in Mumbai though she has to travel a lot because of her work. Dev, on the other hand, lives in London, but he’s also out on the shoots mostly.
"We know this is our work. And we know that we've got to concentrate and focus on that as well, just as much as we concentrate and focus on the relationship," Freida added.
The couple met on the sets of Slumdog Millionaire and have been together since then. Touch wood!

Dolly Bindra is back again in Bigg Boss House
Last week, Dolly Bindra and Samir Soni had been evicted from the house after they engaged in an ugly spat. While Samir has been staying in the house right from the commencement of the 4th season, Dolly Bindra had entered the house via a wild card.
But some people are opining that Dolly should be brought back more so coz Samir has made a return. While Dolly has already made more enemies than friends inside the house, it can’t be denied that her hot temper did give rise to fights and spats which helped the channel to grab eyeballs and raise TRPs.
There have been whispers that Dolly may be brought back since she has already apologized for her behaviour. And even the producers may not much mind a re-entry since it will seize the attention of the dwindling audience.
And after the Pamela Anderson show, the house does need something big to keep the viewers’ interest alive. But the question is should Dolly be hurled back? Would she be able to keep her temper in check?

The navratan necklace worn by Aishwarya Rai in the climax of the film and other items like raindrop earrings, coral kanpashas, rhodolite balis, butterfly earrings, minakari bird ring and the turquoise and coral ring that she wears in the film have been designed by Sabyasachi and crafted by GAJA, the retail brand of Shree Ganesh Jewellery House.
'When Sanjay Leela Bansali approached me for 'Guzaarish', I realised that jewellery would play a very important role in shaping up Sophia's character as played by Aishwarya Rai,' Sabyasachi said in a statement.
'It would have to be nomadic, quirky and personalised and so I decided to bring on board GAJA in SABYASACHI (his lable) because it epitomises that spirit. The whole line has been designed by me keeping in mind a multicultural element with a nomadic vibe.'
For the collection, Sabyasachi used precious and semi-precious stones, minakari and filigree and had to work with about 60 skilled workers from West Bengal to complete the line.
The price range of rings and earrings starts from Rs.40,000 and navratan necklaces are priced at Rs.510,000

Sussanne and Gauri, Hrithik’s and Shahrukh’s wives respectively are the best of friends and they always spend a lot of time whenever time permits.
But just after the film had started, there was a phone call from the big brother Shahrukh Khan to Hrithik Roshan, saying that he was very impressed with the latter’s work in the movie. SRK immediately asked Hrithik to be at his place so that they could have a one on one chat about the great role that Hrithik had portrayed as a paraplegic.
Now, as is well known, Hrithik just cannot say no to SRK. So out he popped from bed and rushed to Mannat forgetting all about his fever and stuff.
Well, reportedly the two discussed everything about portraying characters with chronic diseases on screen and since SRK had also portrayed the role of a mentally affected patient in KJO’S flick My Name Is Khan, he perfectly understood Hrithik’s character of Ethan in Guzaarish who was a paraplegic.
Well, what do we call it? Mutual understanding of one bro for another?

Arjun wanted his family to choose a bride for him; so in his case, it’s both love and arranged.

Katrina Kaif to get Cinnabon Surprise from a little girl: A little girl was surely in for a surprise as her favorite actress Katrina Kaif not only spoke to her at length but also gave her a pack of Cinnabons that are her absolute favorite.
Recently while Katrina was leaving for Bangkok for an ad shoot Katrina was approached by a little girl accompanied by her mother - Kat didn’t want her to leave empty handed and hence gave her the sugar treat she had carried along.
Says an eye witness “The girl barely 5 yrs old started throwing a tantrum and insisted on having Katrina Kaif’s signature Barbie that was recently launched after having watched some footage on television. She went up to Katrina and asked if she could have the doll. Unfortunately since Katrina didn’t have one on her and didn’t want to send the girl empty handed either gave her a pack of Cinnabons she was carrying”
